A STUDY TO EVALUATE THE SAFETY OF ARIPIPRAZOLE IN TREATMENT OF SCHIZOPHRENIA

Objectives: Aripiprazole is recommended in a dose of 10 and 15 mg/day, with ranging between 30 mg/day the treatment schizophrenia. The primary objective study to evaluate safety profile low mg versus high Schizophrenia. Methods: A total 60 patients (not on treatment) age 18-60 years either gender who meet diagnostic criteria as per DSM-IV classification for schizophrenia schizoaffective disorder. All were randomly divided into two groups single-blind criteria. Group-I: once day, morning 6 weeks. Group-II: ESRS includes 12 questionnaire items; each item rated 7-point scale. Efficacy assessment included at baseline weeks end scoring PANSS, EPRS, CGI. Results: number showed (total symptoms) group-I was 09 (35%) out 26 group II, 13 (59%) 22 symptoms). In both aripiprazole comparable efficacy by improving overall symptoms patients. I, 20 have shown improvement scores all scales. 16 different Conclusions: effective disorders, doses are equally mg, side effects like EPS more higher Aripiprazole.
